Lose Lake #2

April 24, 2006 @ 12:14 am

For a long time we omitted this cache from our trips. It sounded like a difficult challenge, rightfully so. We’ve agreed to turn around and post a DNF if the cache proved to difficult or to dangerous for children. With that in mind we packed up and went for a trip with the single purpose of finding Lose Lake #2.

Maintenance Required

April 18, 2006 @ 1:48 am

The first few caches we placed have been out there for a few years. The last log entries indicated some trouble. The rubbermaid containers were showing wear and tear. They are also not all that waterproof. We decided to make a trip with the primary purpose of maintaining the older caches.

50°N 92°W

April 17, 2006 @ 11:45 pm

Ok, this is not really GeoCaching but very much GPS related. The Degree Confluence Project is all about intersections of latitude and longitude lines across the globe. Here is the story of some Sioux Lookout folks that went out to document the 50°N 92°W confluence.

After a slow start in the morning we bundled up the boys and headed for a caching adventure in Dryden. I had noticed that a few caches were visited just a few days ago. While I really didn’t like the idea of digging for caches under 2 or 3 feet of snow, a previous find should leave some nice tracks to cache.

Went after just one cache this wet Saturday afternoon.

Sandy Beach Tic Walk (official page)
The weather wasn’t all that great so this was the only find for today. Didn’t bring anything other then myself and the GPS. Took nothing and left nothing. Couldn’t do a log entry either.

The Drifters

August 23, 2005 @ 10:13 pm

I have 4 travel bugs on the loose. All four visited the Sioux Lookout # 2 cache on August 23, 2005. There they started their journey. They will be swiftly moved to various locations in Western Canada during our upcoming vacation.
