Franks’ Cache

Another bright sunny Saturday that just begged for some outdoor activity, like Geocaching. We ended up driving Highway 105 towards Ear Falls to look for Cliff Lake and Franks’ Cache.
Cliff Lake was our first attempt for the day. I went looking for it by myself. After getting some exhausting workout wading through knee deep crisp snow and searching around a couple tree clusters I gave up. Just couldn’t get down to the bottom of things where the GPS insisted the cache was located. Maybe a collapsible shovel would be a good tool for Winter caching? Certainly have to come back to look for this one with less snow on the ground.
Franks’ Cache was a success. I had hoped for a longer walk. It still was fun and the boys were able to get up close and personal with the cache to pick their treasure. The log entry tells the story.

Got off to a late start this morning. We wanted to do some caching around Dryden but the kids fell asleep in the van. In order to not wake them we just kept on driving to check out the the two caches on Hwy 105. The first cache we tried was a flop. But this one ws an easy find. Too easy really with a nice trail in the snow leading up to it. Traded Signal for some rubber tie downs. Also left a Geocoin. Did my best to cover the container with branches to hide it well.
