The Way Home

On our way home from Winnipeg we tried finding some caches in Manitoba. This first cache we searched out at a popular rest spot (the only one for a loooong way got to be popular :) ).

Our first attempt at finding this cache was on Friday night heading west coming from Ontario. From the description I thought I had an idea of where the cache might be located. Turned out I was wrong and after wading through knee-deep snow I decided to try during the day on our way home. On Sunday, on our way home, I tackled a second attempt at finding the hidden treasure. Sure enough, it was exactly where the GPS said it would be. Great spot! My wife got quite excited about the craft I brought back. I am very sorry that I forgot to leave behind what I claimed to leave behind in the logbook. As we drove off I realized the oversight. I promise to stop by on our next trip west.

Just a short bit down the road we went for a second search. The log entry below pretty much explains all there was to that adventure.

The hike to this cache provided a great break from our 5 hour trip home from Winnipeg on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Even though there was plenty of snow on the ground, the trail was packed enough for an easy for our four year old. Found the cache with little difficulty. She enjoyed the bag of goodies and choose to take home the dinosaur. We left behind some SIMM sticks which make great key fobs.
We also took the travel bug Rockwood Bound and left behind Ron Sutter which we picked up from Pinerest earlier that day.
